Rupee Evolution- A journey on a rollercoaster!

2017- Rup was discovered
I was first introduced to Crypto in October 2017. Sitting in the coach with my girlfriend on a Sunday evening I stumbled upon a comment on a Norwegian Facebook post telling: “I am now selling all my Bitcoins and going all in on xrp”. This got me interested due to the fact that I in 2013 heard some colleagues discussing buying a Bitcoin mining machine for about $7000 and told me “Bitcoin is now worth 100$”. The curiosity in me told me to check up what the aera of Cryptocurrencies now in late 2017 were come to and how to proceed further.
I scouted many YouTube videos of familiar and recognized names in the YouTube world. I then stumbled over a video where the creator mentioned a coin named “Rupee” as a hidden gem, explaining the name brand and the circulation supply vs the inhabitants in Asia. I was curious, this I needed to check out more. After researching the webpage and other, not that many, YouTube movies I decided to purchase some coins on the not-so-great exchange Cryptopia (this is another chapter in history of things working not so great out). Anyways, my first old time, original, Rup coins were purchased late 2017 with the purpose as, I think all have, gaining value in a long-time perspective. I mean, the whole idea and thought of Rup was excellent for the people in India and Asia in general, Solution for Remittance, cryptocurrency for South Asia.
RUP evoles to POS
2018 came and after an ATH (all time high) during the January 2018 top of the bull run, the price (and interest) slightly decreased around. Most likely the original RUP team did a huge sell of (this is only allegations and not facts from my side) but when the bull run was over, and the bear marked entered the RUP team provided huge news that the coin was going over to a POS (Proof of Stake protocol) following the technical spec as Litecoin. This was to be happen on Summer 2018. I must say that this seemed very exciting, passive income and finally some progress (at least updates) from the team. During the swap there was a new team involved and all seems to be for the better purpose in overall. I myself created 2 masternodes and felt this was an exciting time.
Hostile takeover — the end is near?
The swaps took place and all seems fine but all of a sudden the old team took an “hostile takeover”, banning and kicking out the new team leaving the Rup Telegram in a complete chaos. I think that myself toghether with a lot of the others in the Telegram group was left with roller coaster emotions, what the hell did just happen?
For some time there were no updates/information in the Rup Telegram group. Many members asked what happend but the last, but least, famous answer they all got was: “I’m busy in the gym, will answer later”. Nothing happended, I guess the guy has never been seen afterwards so someone needs to check the showers and locker rooms if the CTO of RUP is still there. Also other members of the team felt ashamed and publicly appoligised in the Telegram group for how things was going and resigned.
Rupee Evolution- the new area
By some old team members and Matt “Deadstool” specially, Rupee Evolution were created. The ones left alone in the Rup telegram were invited over to the Rupee Evolution group on Telegram by other members. With a team that are here for us and keeping us up to date, building on the old purpose, this is very exciting. It has taken some time but I have a very good feeling for this team. It takes time to create a good and well working product. It wouldn’t be easy in the mean time we all have huge swap phased to convert our old RUPs to new Rupees. To quote on of the other team members Maarten: We are RUPEE. We, the people in the team, the community. Our mission: community, charity, transparency. No hidden agendas!
We can all say that the road with RUP (and now Rupee) has been like a rollercoaster, but it is when the downhills are gone it is going upwards. I have faith in the team and Matt “Deadstool” which is dedicating a whole lot of time and effort (and costs) on this and am thanking both him and the team a lot to keep this project going onwards, it will be a great project for the future.
